A body has been found near Puarenga Stream

Police have confirmed the identity of a body in a Rotorua stream this morning.

A police media statement said the person has been identified as a 62-year-old Rotorua man.

The man's death will be referred to the Coroner.

A reporter at the scene this afternoon said the body had now been removed and all the police cordons have been taken down.

The man's body was found in Puarenga Stream in Rotorua by a member of the public this morning.

Police were notified just after 8am.
