Bob the Builder was a popular character in this year's Taupo Christmas parade on Saturday.

From left, Ethan Bennett, Chey Jacobs and Daniel Truss travel on the Taupo Children's Corner's float, which won the youth prize for their Bob the Builder theme.

Young and
old turned out for the 30th Taupo Christmas Parade and Carnival.

There were 30 floats in the parade, featuring characters from Shrek to Elvis and, of course, Santa.

The prize for best float overall went to the Taupo Cosmopolitan Club's Santa float, while the commercial prize went to the National Bank.
