Bay of Plenty women's head coach Victoria Grant has named her squad for the 2017/18 season following Saturday's Baywide Club Rugby Sevens tournament.

The youthful squad selected has an abundance of individual talent including New Zealand Black Fern Sevens players Kelly Brazier and Michaela Blyde and Black Fern Lesley Elder.

Thirteen players from the successful Bay of Plenty Volcanix Farah Palmer Cup campaign also feature within this year's squad.

The growth within high-performance women's rugby in the Bay of Plenty has seen the selection of Bay of Plenty's Tynealle Fitzgerald, Ora Williams, Kororia Heyblom, Jade Tuilaepa and Julie Florence in the New Zealand Under 17/Under 18 Sevens side.

The Bay of Plenty squad will compete for the first time at the Counties Manukau Provincial Union Sevens on Saturday.
