Founded last year, Robert Bosch College aims to create an educational framework where students and their teachers live, learn and serve together.
Ayla's mother, Tania Smith, said she was "extremely proud" of Ayla's achievement.
"She has always been a leader of sorts but the application for the college was so long-winded and intensive that we were preparing for rejection.
"When we found out she had been one of the few people accepted, we were incredibly surprised and so proud, like any parent would be."
In her application Ayla said whenever there was an opportunity, she jumped at it, "no matter how big or small it is, I will try".
"I like to think that there are no boundaries, and that anyone can achieve what they set their mind to. I am willing to take a risk, and step out of my comfort zone.
"I am interested in learning about different cultures and what others have to offer, along with sharing my own culture.
"I could easily talk of the cultural and strong leadership qualities I would bring to the college, but they are both strong qualities that are a natural part of who I am. The true contribution I stand to make will come from the depth of my heart."
