The donations are flooding in and tickets are selling out fast for the annual Rotorua Child Cancer Charity Breakfast and Art Auction.

There are only a couple of weeks left to grab tickets for the event hosted by Professionals McDowell Real Estate and co-owner Steve Lovegrove said there were not many left.

"What the Child Cancer Foundation does for the families and the children that are going through cancer is, of course, just amazing.

"I have a keen personal interest because I have a nephew who has been through it."

Over the years the Child Cancer Charity Breakfast and Art Auction has raised about $655,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation and Lovegrove said this year it was hoping to pass the $700,000 mark.

"The local kids have done some amazing work, which will, of course, be the primary feature of the art auction.

"There has also been a tremendous amount of local business who have come on board with their support and donated items to the auction."

Mazda New Zealand and Rotorua Ford and Mazda are putting up for auction a Mazda 2GSX with all profits going towards the Child Cancer Foundation.

Professionals McDowell will offer a free listing and purchasing service and local artist The Bushmans Son, Terry Fergusson, has donated a painting of Sir Edmund Hilary.

"That's beyond all levels of amazing," Lovegrove said. "There are no words for the gratitude we have for everyone who has contributed."

He said they were hoping breakfast attendees would have "long arms and shallow pockets".

"On the day we want people to dig deep, enjoy the amazing breakfast, have some fun, share a few laughs and really just do what the Rotorua community does well, which is support people in need."

Michael Meyer, dealer principal at Rotorua Ford and Mazda, said the company had been attending the breakfast for more than 10 years.

"It's an extremely worthwhile charity. When you see the kids with all of their beads [representing cancer treatments], you can't just not help."

Last year the sale of a car raised more than $4000 and Meyer said he was hoping to beat that.

When: Friday, March 9, breakfast at 6.30am, auction at 7am
