Crash between motorbike and car leaves rider seriously injured near Taneatua

One person is believed to be seriously injured following a crash this afternoon between a motorbike and a car.

Police were notified of the crash on Reid Rd, near Taneatua, by ambulance at 1.58pm.

A St John spokeswoman confirmed the motorbike rider had been seriously injured and transported to Whakatāne Hospital.

It did not appear the road was blocked.
