Two people have been rescued from the surging waters of Huka Falls.
Police have confirmed two people, both tourists, had been found and were safely out of the water near Huka Falls.
A minimum of 50,000 litres of water per second surges through the river.
Taupō police were earlier trying
to spot a person on an inner tube who was reportedly being swept down the Waikato River towards Huka Falls.
