Traffic is building up with a fallen tree near Okere Falls north of Rotorua

A fallen tree is causing traffic delays north of Okere Falls this morning.

Police were notified of a fallen tree on State Highway 33 near Maniatutu Rd at 6.59am.

A police media spokeswoman said the northbound lane is currently blocked and the southbound lane heading into Rotorua was partially blocked.

She said traffic was reported to be building up.

Police have notified contractors.
