Community members who would like to make a real difference for Rotorua's tamariki are being sought.

Volunteer tutors are needed for the Te Wa Korero ngā Tamariki Oral Language Programme at Western Heights Primary School and Ōwhata School.

All volunteers are fully trained by speech, language and literacy specialist Annette Stock, working in conjunction with Rotary Rotorua Sunrise.

Commitment is three half-hour sessions per week per student and they can tutor one student or more depending on the time they commit.

There is an introduction and orientation on Thursday May 2 at 4.30pm at Western Heights Primary School.
