The BP staff held up at gunpoint remain "quite shaken" after the overnight robbery.

Police are still looking for two men who robbed the Te Ngae Rd BP at 2am.

A police media spokesman said the men were armed with a firearm and "made off with cigarettes and cash before leaving in a waiting vehicle".

Inquiries were ongoing, he said.

A spokeswoman for BP confirmed the store "was accessible to customers at the time and there were two employees in store".

"Our employees were not harmed during the incident though understandably they're quite shaken and we are actively providing support to them."
