Members of the Mokoia Intermediate School band were judged best vocals at the regional finals of Bandquest.

The band, Feedback, were from the only Rotorua school to participate in the event.

Rockshop Bandquest is a competition for bands with three to 10 members in Year 9 or below.

The bands have six minutes to perform at the event and Feedback competed against 13 other intermediate schools from the Western Bay of Plenty.


The event was held at Otumoetai College in Tauranga last Wednesday and the band performed My Sharona and Come Together to place fourth in the competition.

Vocalists Ian Crimp and Caitlin Newson were awarded the best vocals awards.

The band line-up consists of Ian Crimp on vocals, Caitlin Newson on vocals and keyboard, Liam Bowers and Oscar Lawson on drums and congas, Dylan Fouracre on rhythm guitar, Sam Reid on bass guitar and Joel Hammond on lead guitar.
