Friday January 19: FREE Swim Run Loop. Complete as many continuous loops of the swim run course as possible in 60 mins. Short course swim/walk of 100m parallel to the shore followed by 500m of running. Long course swim 300m and run 800m. Blue Lake. 6pm to 7pm. Free.

Friday January 19: Technology: The Wonderful World of STEAM at Rotorua Library. 10.30am to 12pm. Ages - 8 plus. Cost $10. Booking required. Visit www.rotorualibrary.govt.nz for details and booking.

Sunday January 21: The Rotorua Vintage Car Club annual car show at the Lakefront. All proceeds donated go to St John Ambulance Rotorua.

Saturday January 20 and Sunday January 21: Blue Lake Regatta - Held on Lake Tikitapu since the early 1960s this kayak regatta attracts 600-700 athletes from around the North Island along with their coaches and supporters.

Tuesday January 23: Summer of STEAM Bingo Reading Challenge Finale with special guest Aunty Bea at Rotorua Library. 1.30pm to 3pm. Ages - Up to 13 years. Booking is required for this free event. Visit www.rotorualibrary.govt.nz for details and booking.

Tuesday January 23: A four-hour workshop on script writing, hosted by actress Cian Elyse White. From 10am to 2pm at The Arts Village, 1240 Hinemaru St. Bookings essential, call 348 9008.

Wednesday January 24: Arts Night Out: music, performance and Play On at The Arts Village. 5pm to 9pm.

Friday January 26: Open studios showcase at The Arts Village. A showcase of summer arts projects completed by the artists in residence. 5.30pm.
