Locals can help fundraise for a great cause while enjoying fashion, entertainment and afternoon tea.

Quota International of Rotorua's Spring into Summer event is being held at the Sudima Hotel on Sunday September 24, 1pm.

It is a fundraiser for the Rotorua Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ.

There will be a fashion show showcasing Parrots on Hinemoa's Spring collection.

Attendees will also be treated to entertainment and afternoon tea, along with a raffle draw and a Parrots $500 door prize.

The entertainment will include the Falconer family, Rotorua Girls' High School and Chrissie Knapp.

Lyn Gahan, from Quota Rotorua, says they first started holding the event in 2003.

"We wouldn't be able to hold it without the help of a lot of people." Its success is due to all who participate.

Quota's Robyn Ward says, "We are able to raise so much more for Blood and Leukaemia Cancer because of the generosity of the Rotorua community".

Samantha Roebuck, Sudima Hotel conference and sales co-ordinator, says they support the event through making an venue available as well as their team doing the set up and being on hand for the afternoon teas.

Maree Welgus, Sudima Hotel executive assistant manager, says they are happy to be involved in the community and to be able to give back a small contribution on their behalf.

She says they can have 180 people in their venue and that's how many tickets are looking to be sold.

"The staff at Parrots really do work hard. It's a combined effort.

"Also the local community have supported us, and we want to give back to the community."

The major sponsors of the event are Sudima Lake Rotorua, Parrots on Hinemoa and Steiners/Interiors by Reputation.

Tickets cost $35 and are available from Parrots on Hinemoa.
