From North America to Africa, the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home peace torch has been to many places as a symbol of harmony - and has now visited a Rotorua primary school.
Founded by Indian spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy, the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run hosts its 30th anniversary this year, spreading peace around the world.
A peace run team, made up of nine runners, visited Western Heights Primary School last Thursday.
The group, who are running from Auckland to Wellington over a two-week period, greeted students from Western Heights Primary and visiting senior students from Aorangi Primary School.
A South African team member told the students the team was made up of people "from all different countries, cultures and backgrounds".
