Area of Linton Park still closed after sewer overflow

Clean up of the sewer overflow in Linton Park is almost finished however the area will be closed to the public over the weekend, according to the Rotorua Lakes Council Facebook page.

The area will be closed as a precaution and hazard tape and health warning signs are posted at both ends of the affected walkway.

Part of the reserve behind the Mitchell Downs Tavern was closed yesterday due to a sewer overflow from a manhole.

The public was asked to avoid entering the area or playing in any nearby water.
