Reserve closed due to sewer overflow

A reserve in Rotorua has been closed to the public due to a sewer overflow from a manhole.

According to the Rotorua Lakes Council facebook page the reserve behind Mitchell Downs Tavern and the Goldie Street walkway entrance would be closed until further notice.

The public is asked to avoid entering the area or playing in any nearby water.

Health warning signs would be placed around the affected zone to notify anyone entering the area.
