Western Heights High School recently had fun hosting 200 Japanese students for part of a day.
The students from Morimura Gakuenn performed traditional dance, modern dance and martial arts to the enjoyment of the Western Heights High School students who had earlier welcomed them with a traditional pohiri.
Their stunning concert and video was followed by interaction with the local students in the classroom, learning the haka and playing games.
After a shared lunch the Japanese students spent the afternoon visiting attractions and activities in Rotorua before continuing with a farm stay experience in the region.
This is a new destination for the Japanese visitors having been hosted in Auckland in the past.
Our local and international students attending Western Heights High School thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to host them and share experiences.
