Western Heights High School recently had fun hosting 200 Japanese students for part of a day.
The students from Morimura Gakuenn performed traditional dance, modern dance and martial arts to the enjoyment of the Western Heights High School students who had earlier welcomed them with a traditional pohiri.
Their stunning
concert and video was followed by interaction with the local students in the classroom, learning the haka and playing games.
After a shared lunch the Japanese students spent the afternoon visiting attractions and activities in Rotorua before continuing with a farm stay experience in the region.
This is a new destination for the Japanese visitors having been hosted in Auckland in the past.
