There is a heavy snow warning for Taupo and Turangi tonight.

Bay of Plenty Police and the MetService have issued the snow warning saying that in the 18 hours from midnight tonight until 6pm Thursday 20 to 30cm of snow was expected to accumulate above 500 metres with lesser amounts down to 300 metres.
