It took just three weeks with an agent for Terry Kendrick's house to be snapped up.

The Lynmore home - built by Mr Kendrick in 2004 - was one of the 179 Rotorua homes sold last month.

Prior to its sale, it had been a rental for 12 years, only ever having four tenants.

The house sold for $545,000, probably at the higher end of the price range, he said.

Mr Kendrick said although he was happy with how the sale went, "It's always sad to sell a property you've built".

He said agents Ray White "had it for three weeks and had it under contract within that time frame".

He said it had been a "low key" sale with open homes but no signs out the front, and the property had seen a good level of interest through each open home.

"It progressed very steadily and nicely."

Lynmore was a desirable location for people and real-estate, Mr Kendrick said.

He said it would be one of the more desirable areas in Rotorua for people due to its proximity to a school and the Redwoods, as well as having a good standard of houses and nice open streets.
