Heavy rain warning for Rotorua

A heavy rain warning has been issued for Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty tomorrow.

A deepening low is expected to move southeastwards across the North Island bringing a burst of heavy rain during Wednesday.

Rain is forecast to become heavy around noon with up to 90mm of rain expected until midnight Wednesday with possible thundery downpours.

This may lead to slips and surface flooding and could make for hazardous driving conditions.
