Rotorua man Ian White died of natural causes, police have confirmed.

Mr White, 58, was found dead in his home on Peace St, Fenton Park on May 3. Police had been treating his death as suspicious.

District field crime manager Detective Senior Sergeant Lew Warner told the Rotorua Daily Post today investigators had received the pathologist's report and the death was now a matter for the coroner.

"We have the pathologist's results back and they have found that Ian White died of natural causes."

Sandra Bristowe, a neighbour and friend of Mr White's late mother, was pleased the wait to hear what had happened was over.

"That's actually really nice to know that nobody went in there to hurt him intentionally. It's a good feeling to know that nobody had interfered with his life.

"People keep asking me what's been happening. Everyone's been waiting so it will be nice to be able to say that it was natural causes," Ms Bristowe said.
