Quakes rattle White Island

White Island was shaken by two earthquakes this morning .

A 3.3 magnitude quake hit within 5km of the active volcano at 9.17am at a depth of 5km.

Earlier at 9.13am a light shake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale was registered.

White Island's volcanic alert level is currently sitting at one, meaning there is minor volcanic unrest.
