Police are continuing to investigate the death of Fai Deane in Taupo over the weekend.
Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Cranshaw of Taupo Area CIB, said a post mortem had now been completed, but a number of inquiries still needed to be made before police were in a position to commentin more detail.
"This is a complex inquiry and there are still a number of issues to work through as we piece together the exact circumstances of Fai's tragic death.
"Police would like to thank those members of the public who assisted us with our inquiries in Taupo on Saturday," Mr Cranshaw said.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle which crashed into a power pole in the area prior to Ms Deane's death had collided with or scraped other obstacles in the lead up to the crash.
