A Rotorua man has admitted the aggravated robberies of a Rotorua Four Square and a Tauranga bank.
Joshua John Morrison, 21, pleaded guilty in the Rotorua District Court yesterday to the aggravated robberies of the Selwyn Heights Four Square in Rotorua on October 4 and the ANZ Bank in Greerton, Tauranga, on October 9.
He also pleaded guilty to charges of sexual connection with a girl under 16, assault, wilful damage, unlawfully taking a vehicle and breaching his release conditions.
Police at the time said a man, later found to be Morrison, had robbed the Four Square with a firearm, fleeing in a taxi with between $500 and $700 in cash.
The Rotorua Daily Post reported two young boys had witnessed the robbery, with a 10-year-old noticing the man demanding money from the till.
