If you have a puppy with boundless energy or a dog with impressive agility, look no further than the Dog Sports Rotorua Open Agility event.
Held tomorrow in the Paradise Valley Raceway car park, the light-hearted competition will tire out your dog and children.
Trainer Raewyn Saville said the dogs run through the Elementary B course, an entry level New Zealand Kennel Club course suitable for most dogs.
"We want to encourage people who have never engaged in dog sports to give it a go and see what their dog can do."
The dogs can complete the course with or without a lead.
Ms Saville said the event was mainly about the pups, but it was also good for dog owners and families to socialise.
"You get to meet some fantastic people and a lot of the children who come along love to run the course with their dogs, which is great to see."
Ms Saville said it was a family friendly event which everybody loved. "It's a bit of light-hearted fun and people always leave with a smile on their face."
Registration is at 12.30pm and the competition starts at 1pm.
A free lesson will be given to help first time owners and dogs to get familiarised with the course.
Ribbons will be presented to winners in each class.
