Police are still trying to work out what was the cause of a report involving a man being thrown from a moving car on State Highway 2.
Emergency services were called to the incident, which happened near the intersection of Maketu Rd about 12.25pm, but most units have sincebeen stood down, a police northern communications spokesman said.
The matter was understood to have been a domestic incident.
It was not clear if the man suffered any injuries, and if so, how serious they were, the spokesman said.
