Getting the public, especially children, more involved in recycling and keeping Rotorua beautiful is on top of the list for Rose Hiha-Agnew.
In her new role as Keep Rotorua Beautiful co-ordinator Mrs Hiha-Agnew will look to visit more local schools and kindergartens as well as connecting with and establishing a volunteer network to support events and activities.
She's only been in the role for two weeks but has some great plans for the future of the organisation, which has helped Rotorua win the title of New Zealand's most beautiful city six times in the past 11 years.
"I have a wonderful Keep Rotorua Beautiful committee who are very knowledgeable and experienced.
"With this support I believe we will be able to tackle the challenging issues of graffiti present in our city and the ever growing problem of litter throughout our district.
