Lawyers for alleged "accidental millionaire" Leo Gao are expected to make a bail application when the 30-year-old next appears in court, in Rotorua tomorrow.
Gao allegedly fled New Zealand with millions of dollars, after a $10 million overdraft facility was mistakenly loaded on to his Rotorua business account by a Westpac staff member.
He and his former partner, Kara Hurring, are accused of transferring more than $6 million of Westpac's money into several accounts before fleeing the country.
His disappearance sparked an international manhunt involving Interpol and other overseas agencies.
Gao was arrested in Hong Kong in September, and arrived back in New Zealand with police this morning (Wed).
