The people of the West Coast are reeling from New Zealand's worst workplace disaster since the sinking of the Kaitawa in 1967.
The 29 men who died in the Pike River Mine disaster left behind wives, partners, parents and children.
To them The Daily Post and this paper's parent company, APN
News and Media, extend our deepest condolences.
APN News and Media is offering its support to the families of the miners by using its many publishing, outdoor, radio and online businesses around the country to encourage all Kiwis to support the Pike River Miners Relief Fund Trust, which has been set up by the mayor of the Grey District Council, Tony Kokshoorn.
Donations to the trust can be made at any Westpac or BNZ branch, or sent care of the Grey District Council. Telecom, Vodafone and 2degrees customers can text 306 to make an automatic $3 donation.
