Armed robbery in Whakatane

A person armed with a knife has robbed a dairy in Whakatane.

Police were called to the dairy on the corner of King and Bridge streets in Whakatane about 2.30pm.

It is not known at this stage if anyone was hurt during the robbery or if anything has been stolen.

But, a police communications spokeswoman said no arrest had yet been made.
