New Zealand's number one arm wrestler Maateiwarangi "The Beast" Heta-Morris has finished 13th at the World Arm Wrestling Championships in Lithuania.
Heta-Morris, from Rotorua, went up against the best in the world at the weekend in the prestigious men's 110kg-plus category.
He finished 21st in the left-hand competition before placing13th in his preferred right-hand competition. Twenty-nine competitors, mainly from European countries, entered the right-hand competition on Saturday.
Heta-Morris became the first arm wrestler to represent New Zealand at the world champs during his debut last year.
He wrote on his Facebook supporter page after the competition. "I won 2 and lost 2. I beat Ukraine and Italy. Lost to Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.
"I am happy with my wins but unfortunately I got 13th in the world this time. Sorry guys I did my absolute best. But I guarantee I will keep training harder and harder."
Heta-Morris received plenty of congratulations after the event. Georgia's Levan Saginashvili won the left and right-handed competitions.
