An Evening With Andrew Newton

British hypnotist Andrew Newton will make you laugh, roll over and do just about anything during his one-off show in Rotorua.

This Sunday's show will not only please keen supporters but also local community groups benefitting from Mr Newton's skills.

The world-famous hypnotist is giving community groups back half the money they can raise from ticket sales.

Plunket Rotorua has already sold 50 tickets raising $500 for their organisation.

Rotorua Plunket community services co-ordinator Louise Perese said the $20 tickets were very popular and the hypnotist was renowned for his clean and family-friendly comedy.

"It is a children-friendly show edvidently. I'm taking all four of my kids.

"I went to one years ago and I can assure you I'll be standing in the background," she said jokingly.

Event organiser Lyn Davis said the show would be at the Millennium Hotel from 7pm and she expected the 370-person venue to sell out.

"He hasn't been through here for a few years.

"He loves New Zealand and we are going to start doing this annually, but probably next time more people will be involved and we will look to get a bigger venue."

She said the hypnotist had enjoyed coming to New Zealand in the past, with plenty of support and he wanted to give something back by using the fundraising system to sell tickets.

"We still make money out of it but at the same time we are giving back."

Mr Newton has more than 5500 public and television appearances under his belt and has hypnotised more than 55,000 people over 30 years.
