"Visitors can access the animal areas on some of our nature walks and are welcome to take photographs of their encounter."
Mr Thomasen said the animals had added another family fun experience that both domestic and international visitors were enjoying.
"While we are well known for our views, great food, and of course the luge, the lambs and alpaca offer visitors an opportunity to view and interact with some farm as well.
"Whilst some Kiwis take this for granted, a number of visitors just don't normally get this chance.
"We place a high importance on constantly innovating and evolving so that our offering remains fresh and interesting for visitors. This is another example of that."
"Alpaca have proven to be great, easy care animals and are already providing lots of fun and enjoyment for both our staff and visitors," Mr Thomasen said.
