Air New Zealand is offering special fares on its central North Island services to mark the start of the tourism industry's largest international trade show, TRENZ.

This year's event, which attracts 320 international travel and tourism buyers from New Zealand's major and emerging visitor markets, is currently being hosted in Rotorua by eXplore Central North Island - a collective representing eight regions.

To celebrate, Air New Zealand, premier sponsor of the event, will release a total of 2500 seats on non-stop services into and out of Rotorua, Tauranga, Hamilton, Napier and Taupo for between $39 and $49 on its grabaseat website from today through until Wednesday.

Air New Zealand Chief Sales and Commercial Officer Cam Wallace said as a key player in the tourism industry the airline was incredibly proud to support TRENZ and to see it return to Rotorua.

He urges those interested in snapping up one of the special fares to keep an eye on the Air New Zealand grabaseat website.

"We anticipate that these fares will be incredibly popular with different Central North Island routes to be offered across the three days TRENZ is on.

"A number of international visitors to TRENZ will use it as an opportunity to further explore the country and these fares will ensure local residents are able to do the same."

For further information including travel periods and to purchase a TRENZ fare head to www.grabaseat.co.nz.
