A syndicate of friends have been revealed as the latest winners in Rotorua's lucky Lotto-winning streak, collecting $1 million with Lotto First Division on the weekend.

It was the third big win in as many weeks and followed hot on the heels of a Rotorua family winning $24.3 million with Powerball First Division in late June and a Rotorua man winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division earlier this month.

The latest lucky winners are "thrilled to bits" with their windfall, even while claiming that "it still doesn't feel real".

"I was in stunned silence when I checked the ticket on Saturday night," one of the winners said.

"It was hard to believe that it was real and that we had all the numbers right."

Now that the $1 million is in the bank, the syndicate are starting to think about what to do with their win. As well as plans to pay off their mortgages, they're also thinking about how they can help others.

"If you win something, you should share it around with other people who need it," one of the winners said.

"It's all perks really, so we're happy to be able to share this."
