Adele must be rolling in the cash after a successful year in which she's topped charts around the world, including New Zealand.

The 23-year-old Londoner's album 21 was New Zealand's top-selling album this year. It reached No 1 on seven separate occasions and set a new record of 26 non-consecutive weeks at the top.

In fact, the law of averages states there's probably an Adele album playing near you right now.

Her debut album 19 also made its chart debut in New Zealand, three years after it was released.

Adele's singles Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep were the year's third and fourth best-selling singles repspectively.

LMFAO's  Party Rock Anthem was the year's top selling single, with 11 weeks at No 1, and Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger was No 2.

We obviously dig songs about dancing: this year's Christmas parties will be full of people shufflin' and moving like Mick Jagger.

Party Rock Anthem was the fourth-longest running No 1 in New Zealand chart history.
