Friday Nov 25: White Ribbon Day. In the City Focus to make a stand against violence towards women. Entertainment and guest speakers. From 9am-2pm.

Friday Nov 25: St Luke's Lunchtime Concert. With Rotorua soprano Evelyn Falconer singing pieces by Mozart, Faure and Liszt while accompanied by pianist Allison Zanelli. From 12.15pm-12.45pm at St Luke's Church. Entry by donation.

Friday Nov 25: Charles Blomfield - Landscape Traditions. Debbi Thyne, tutor in art and design at Waiariki Institute of Technology, delves into the fascinating world of landscape art and the developments that made artists like Charles Blomfield a household name. From 6pm-9pm at the Rotorua Museum.

Friday Nov 25: Body Fuel Criterium. Watch some of the best cyclists in the country take part in an elite road cycling street race around the Taupo central business district. The women's race begins at 6pm, the men at 6.45pm. The start and finish is on Tongariro St.

Saturday Nov 26: The New Zealand Country Music Awards 2011. Featuring Lynne Toner, Gray Bartlett, Gina Keating, Hannah Cosgrove, Georgia Baker-Trebilco and Sisters United. From 7pm at the Rotorua Civic Theatre. Tickets available from the Convention Centre. Adults $35, children $15.

Saturday Nov 26: Koutu Community Sports Day. Organised by the youth of Koutu to bring their neighbourhood together in a fun filled afternoon. From 11am-3pm at the Waikite Rugby Club on Bellevue Rd. Free entry. Contact Raki Wiringi on (07) 348 5051 or email eoho@twptnz.org for information.

Saturday Nov 26: Baby Talk. Learn how to use sign language with your hearing baby to help with early communication. From 10.30am-12.30pm at the Parents Centre Rooms, Linton Park Community Centre. Saturday Nov 26: Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge. New Zealand's premier cycling event with a total of 12 different cycling events based around Lake Taupo. Proceeds go back to the local community. Late entries accepted until 8am Saturday. To find out more visit www.cyclechallenge.com.

Saturday Nov 26: The Rotorua North Rotary Club Charity Flea Market. Open every Saturday next to the playground in Kuirau Park from 7am-1pm. A huge range of produce, food, goods and entertainment, with proceeds going back to the Rotorua community.

Saturday Nov 26: The Seriously Social Rafting Competition offers a fun day out on the Tarawera River in Kawerau. The competition is open to a maximum of 16 teams with six members per team. Take a look at the stationary and steam engines, 1920s village and cottage, the forestry and logging display, farm machinery and blacksmith and the Maori display. Miniature train rides available. Monday Nov 28 - Friday Dec 2: Rotorua Primary School Maori Festival. Established in 1978 to celebrate Maori song, story-telling, poetry, dance and kapa haka. Two sessions daily, 5.30pm-7pm and 7.30pm-9pm in the Civic Theatre.

Wednesday Nov 30: The Rotorua Mad Poets Society. Meet every Wednesday in the Haupapa Room at the Rotorua District Library between 6.30pm and 8pm. All poetry lovers welcome. For information, call (07) 562 5497 or (07) 349 0060.

Wednesday Nov 30: A Movember party is being held at Brew Bar on Eat Streat from 6.30pm. Several Rotorua raft guides will be getting their Movember efforts shaved off and $1 from every pint of beer sold at the party will be donated to Movember. Thursday Dec 1: Concert @ the Museum. Timua Te Kowhai is one of New Zealand's most respected Maori soprano and opera singers. She will be accompanied by emerging artists Declan Cudd and the Rotorua String Ensemble. $15 Adult, $12 Concession/Student, $5 Child. From 8pm-10pm at the Rotorua Museum.

Thursday Dec 1: Mates in Bowls. At the Rotorua East Bowling Club. A five-week competition in a fun and relaxed environment. This is the final week of competition. Saturday Dec 3: Stepping Out auditions. Stepping Out was a hugely successful West End run and won the Best Comedy Award in 1984. It's a warm and very funny play about the lives of a group of women (and one man) attending a weekly tap-dance class in a dingy North London church hall. Cast required nine females and one male.
