Friday, Dec 17: Rotorua Geyserland Lions Club will be holding Carols by Candlelight at Kuirau Park.
Candles and holders will be available at the venue for a gold coin donation, or people can bring their own.
The Rotorua Symphonic Band will start playing from 7pm, and the carols
programme will start at 7.20pm.
Travelling Tuataras will be on hand to entertain the children. Candles will be lit at 8.50pm.

Indoor and outdoor stalls offer crafts, curiosities and collectables for those hard-to-buy-for people.

Saturday, Dec 18: The Rotorua Charity Half-Ironman is a 2km swim in Lake Tikitapu, followed by a scenic 90km bike ride before a testing off-road 21km run. Starting from Lake Tikitapu the event is open to individuals and relay teams at $99+GST. Contact Shane Hooks on hooksie@half.co.nz.
Saturday, Dec 18: Young people are invited to take part in Youth Day Out at the Rotorua Youth Centre. The free event will showcase welfare providers, tertiary, cadet forces and other agencies that can help young people and will feature many games and competitions.
Youth Centre Idol search will be on with two tickets to Raggamuffin to be given away.
Other competitions to be held are riding a mechanical surfboard, Wii games, Segway rides, a bouncy castle and sumo suit wrestling.

Saturday, Dec 18: A free community concert will be held by Victory Church Rotorua at the Glenholme Reserve on Miller St to help raise awareness of crime in Rotorua.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the music, drama, skits and entertainment on offer for all the family. Bring a blanket for the kids. The concert will run from 2pm-4pm.
A movie screening of Twice Dead a modern day version of Cross and the Switchblade will show at at 72 Malfroy Road from 6pm.
Sunday, Dec 19: The Howard Morrison Jnr Trio will peform at the Rotorua Convention Centre to perform songs that helped define a nation and bring fame and adulation to New Zealand's most loved entertainer Sir Howard Morrison.
The concert will run from 5.30pm-8pm at the Rotorua Civic Theatre. Tickets are $45. Contact (07) 350 2244.
