Tuesday Jun 25: Soroptimist International of Rotorua. Meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. At the Princes Gate Hotel from 6.30pm for dinner and a guest speaker. For information contact Rosalie Hallam on (07) 348 6034.

Tuesday Jun 25: Utuhina Badminton Club. Winter badminton every Tuesday at the club on Tarewa Pl from 7pm to 9.30pm. Rackets available. Everyone welcome.

Tuesday Jun 25: Cake Decorating Class - Elegant Cake course. A 3-hour workshop, all materials supplied, with tutor Trish Woodward from Auckland. Cost is $100. Wednesday Jun 26: Free public talk with Matariki Rotorua at Rotorua Museum. From 6pm. Dr Rangi Matamua (expert in Maori astronomy) and Michael Parish (Celtic Druid from the United Kingdom) will explore Matariki from diverse cultural perspectives.

Wednesday Jun 26: Lake City Toastmasters meets every Wednesday at Family Works, 1083 Eruera St, from 7am to 8am. Coffee at Capers afterwards.

Thursday Jun 27: The Rotorua Night Market. A unique boutique-style market in the Heart of Tutanekai St from 5pm to 9pm. Ethnic eateries and speciality foods, jewellery, arts and crafts and entertainment.
