As well as Uprising and Te Matatini there are two other events that could be up your alley.
At the Rotorua Civic Theatre on Saturday is Australian Renee Geyer, a rhythm and blues singer who is in her fifth decade of performing. Geyer produced her first album in the early 1970s and has gone on to release 23 more. Her 25th album is in production.
She is headlining the concert, which is a one-off before she heads back across the Ditch.
Supporting Geyer will be Whakatane's Maisey Rika, Polynesian duo Adeaze, Three Houses Down, Sammy J, Chad Chambers, NZ's Got Talent finalist Tawaroa Kawana and others for whom Renee has been hugely influential.
Standard tickets - the last day to buy these is today - are $65. From tomorrow tickets will be $70, booking fees apply. Doors open at 8pm.
