A top DJ from a popular New Zealand band is set to rock the Rotorua scene this weekend.
The Salmonella Dub DJ Soundsystem featuring DJ Rudeboy will hold a concert at the Crash Palace tomorrow and the show will feature a range of artists including Mighty Asterix and Skitter & Mish
on live horns.
The concert is expected to attract at least 200 keen party-goers in what was described by Crash Palace owner and manager Chris Woodney as a good positive and laid-back environment.
"It will be a massive evening and I'm sure everyone will have a good time," he said.
It will be the DJ's first performance in Rotorua in nine years and he will be welcomed into the Crash Palace by a group of Year 8 students from Rotorua Intermediate who are a part of the Tamatoa class.
"The students were really looking forward to the powhiri. It's a really big thing for them," Mr Woodney said.
The Salmonella Dub drum, bass and reggae roots band was formed in 1997 and was the breeding ground for renowned singer and musician Tiki Taane who was the frontman in the band for a number of years before embarking on a solo career in 2007.
Pre-sale tickets are $25 and limited door sales will be $25 on the night. The concert will start at 7pm.
