Having a cold may have got to a certain Rotorua woman's head this week. Not only did she say she felt so cold the temperature must be about "negative zero" one day this week, she also made a phone call and said "Hi Kristy, this is Kristin" - when in fact it was Kristy making the call. It's not uncommon for strangers to get the two names mixed up but it's now catching on to her too. These names may or may not have been changed to save the woman from further embarrassment.
A Rotorua woman preparing for her up-coming nuptials to her long-time girlfriend, took to Facebook to ask people for wedding song suggestions. While most of the suggestions were serious, her sister in-law suggested a different, but appropriate song instead by posting the lyrics "I kissed a girl and I liked it!" from Katy Perry's song I Kissed a Girl. The up-and-coming bride's response was "Songs plz ... we don't wanna hear about ur weekend".
A Rotorua woman was running late to work this week so parked right outside work and quickly ran to the door. It's a swinging door, and she saw it was unlocked so ran straight to it. Only she didn't go through it so much as into it, at speed, because it wasn't unlocked at all. She hurt her knee and arm crashing into it. Luckily no one was around at the time to witness her collision.

There can't be many harder task than searching for lost contact lenses - especially considering your vision's not 100 per cent while you're doing it. But one local bloke really made it hard work for himself this week. Not only had he lost one of his lenses, the other lens was proving difficult to put in. After enlisting the help of his better half and conducting a thorough 90-minute search, turning the house upside-down, there was still no sign of his missing lens. Not until he tried putting the other lens in again did he discover the reason it was so hard to put in - it was actually both lenses stuck together.
