LastPass means you only need one password for everything.

LastPass means you only need one password for everything.

I locked myself out of my Instagram account yesterday. I don't know how as I was convinced the password I was using was the right one.

Turned out I was right, but I only learned this when I went to reset. Did you know you can't reset your password to one you have already used? I know now.

How many accounts requiring passwords do you have?

If you're anything like me then it will be an immense amount. There's my original email account with Hotmail, then Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Not to mention all the different forums I have been a member of over the years - wedding, Ironman and baby-related depending on what stage of life I'm at. Add to that the online stores where you can set up an account, it's amazing that I do actually remember most of them straight away.

Experts say not to have the same password for everything, which just makes it even more confusing, which password have I used for which account?

After my conundrum I read of someone else having the same issue - she wanted to comment on a blog but had forgotten her Wordpress password.

"Are you using LastPass yet?" was the next post after hers.

"Honestly, it's brilliant! Takes away all that low-level stress around remembering passwords."

Well, this was something I had to check out.

At first glance I'm hooked.

All you need to do is download and setup with LastPass. Once you've created your account, LastPass prompts you to save new sites as you browse - so you'll never lose another password.

If you have more than one computer - and let's face it, many of us would access password protected sites from at least two devices - you can download LastPass and login with the same account.

Ever since LastPass was mentioned so many other people have posted how it has been a godsend. And since I've a habit of losing passwords (or at least forgetting which one I've used) I think I'll be adding it to my own computer tonight.
