A Nightshelter in Rotorua?
Corie Haddock, from Lifewise in Auckland, will talk to Rotorua people about his experience helping the homeless. From noon to 1pm at St Luke's Lounge, 1223 Amohia St. Gold coin donation for a light lunch.
Thursday, June 23: Te Amorangi Museum - Rotorua's Heritage Village displays artefacts from the 1920s. Robinson Ave, Holden's Bay. Open 10am to 4pm, $5 for adults and free for under-15s.
Friday, June 24: Neighbours in our community - Understand the challenges of settling into New Zealand life. Migrants talk about their home country, culture and experiences. Join us to listen to Simon, Andea and Fasian from Chile. Tea and coffee provided. From noon to 1pm at Rotorua Arts Village Experience, Hinemaru St.
Friday, June 24: St Luke's Lunchtime Concert - Cellophonics, a group of seven outstanding student cellists and their noted teacher, James Tennant, from the University of Waikato. With soprano Julia Booth. From 12.15-1pm at St Luke's Church. Adults $5, senior citizens $4, students $2.

Red Cross Quiz Evening. Doors open at 6.30pm if you would like to bring some tea and enjoy company before the festivites start at 7.30pm. $10 per person or $30 for a team of four. Saturday, June 25: The Rotorua North Rotary Club charity flea market. Every Saturday, next to the playground in Kuirau Park, from 7am to 1.30pm.

Rotorua Entertains Stilt Walking Workshop. The free workshop is for individuals 11 and over without previous experience in Stilt Walking with tutor Julie Voss who has been teaching stilt walking for several years. She will work with you to get you up higher and higher. Stilts and safety gear supplied. The workshop is at RAVE from 1pm - 3pm. Saturday June 25: Little Shop of Horrors Auditions. Rotorua Musical Theatre presents auditions on Saturday June 25 2011 for their end of year production of Little Shop of Horrors: Broadway Revival Version. A a cast of nine males and female singers are required. Perform two songs of your own choice. Auditions by appointment only. Saturday June 25-Sunday June 26: Women's Lifestyle Expo. This year the Expo will feature cooking demonstrations, a demo and seminar zone, a Taste of Your Region area and much more with over 120 sites on offer. George Andrews will be speaking in the Education Room at the Rotorua Museum at 5.30pm. Admission Free with Entry. Locals and Under 5s Free.
Tuesday June 28: The Man in Black. The Johnny Cash Story starring Tex Perkins and The Tennessee Four. A celebration of the life and times of one of the most incredible singers, songwriters and entertainers ever to grace the stage. Johnny Cash stood up for the downtrodden, the disenfranchised, the indigenous Americans, the imprisoned and all those who had suffered a raw deal in life. 8pm at Rotorua Civic Theatre. Tuesday June 28: The Men's Shed. This new group is gaining in popularity and is getting busier as they create, repair or just have a good chat with a cuppa. The facilities are the starting point of what the group is working towards - a new, brighter and greater space for their hobbies. Every Tuesday and Thursday at Te Amorangi Museum grounds - on the way to the airport. Call in and see how The Men's shed works and join in. Phone Bruce 345 9525 or Allan 345 6884. It's FREE.
Tuesday June 28: Zonta Mid-Winter Christmas. Rotorua Zonta Club for women having fun and fellowship together is having a mid-winter Christmas dinner at Millenium Hotel. Dinner is $22. Wednesday June 29 - Friday July 1: Rhapsody Rotorua. Rhapsody Rotorua is the foremost International Schools Music Festival in New Zealand. With hundreds of participants it offers three days of full on music involvement. Bands, orchestras, choirs, ensembles, percussion groups, jazz groups, stage bands, guitar ensembles, bell ringers and whatever type of performing art. All gather to participate in concert performances, adjudication, tutoring, clinics, master classes, workshops and play-outs. From 7:30pm - 10pm at Rotorua Convention Centre. Wednesday June 29: Quiz Night. Enjoy Rotorua's only multimedia quiz night. With great giveaways and bar tabs to be won, get your teams together (no limits on team numbers) and join us for a fun filled free quiz. General knowledge is the key - with categories like food, geography, old and new, 50/50, brainteasers and many more. A new quiz every Wednesday from 6.30pm - 10pm at Seismic Gastrobar.

Saturday July 2: Maori Language Pronunciation. This is a fun-filled 6-hour workshop where you will learn to speak Maori words correctly using music and puppets. Get over your embarrassment, and embrace speaking Maori during this years Maori Language Week. Useful for migrants and newcomers, those working in customer services, tourism, health, education and government sector. Learn to pronounce Maori words, use Maori greetings, say local names of streets, lakes, mountains and people. From 9am - 3pm at Rotorua Arts Village, 1240 Hinemaru St. Costs $25 and includes lunch.
