Summer Soul sounds like heaven

Rotorua is set to get an injection of R&B; and hip hop with three Kiwi artists heading to perform in the city tonight.

Kiwi R&B; singer Pieter T and two of three members of hip hop group Smashproof Deach and Sidney Diamond will be in Rotorua for a gig called Summer Soul at Heaven and Hell.

Heaven and Hell co-owner Pato Alvarez said it was good to have all three of the artists coming to Rotorua.

He said Diamond would perform his new single No Sympathy among other tracks tonight, while Pieter T would have a separate set. Mr Alvarez said Deach would do a DJ set and also perform his single Be With You with Pieter T.

Mr Alvarez said the night would be a lot of fun and fans would get the chance to meet and take photos with the artists.

"Pieter T is always looking forward to coming back to Heaven and Hell," Mr Alvarez said.

Initially only Pieter T and Diamond were due to come to Heaven and Hell but Alvarez confirmed Deach would be having a regular DJ set at the nightclub. He said he would be working with Deach to bring more Kiwi artists to Rotorua.

"He's going to help me bring gigs to Rotorua," he said.

There will be a $5 door charge for anyone who wants to head to Summer Soul until 12.15am and a $10 cover charge after that time.
