What at first sounded like a terrible idea has turned out amazing. Black Eyed Peas' new version of Where Is The Love? is a brave re-imagining of the song that made them megastars.

Even if the idea of Noughties-era Black Eyed Peas puts you off your lunch, you'll want to check out this cool, dark and thought-provoking rendition - actual title #WHERESTHELOVE - aimed at ending gun violence.

The track, released last week, features artists including Justin Timberlake, Usher, Mary J Blige, Jessie J, Diddy, Ty Dolla $ign and Vanessa Hudgens.

Proceeds from the song will go towards will.i.am's i.am.angel education charity.

The 40th anniversary of The Band's The Last Waltz will be marked with a concert tour featuring Band member Garth Hudson and the original concert's music director John Simon.

They'll be joined by musicians including Barry Saunders, Kevin Borich, Tami Neilson and Delaney Davidson.

The Band had hits including The Weight and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.
Shows are in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland from November 22 to 24.

See www.thelastwaltztour.com for ticket details.

Also in Blast from the Past news, UB40 will be headlining Reggae By The River in Taupo this New Year's Eve.

The band features original members Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue. Also performing will be LAB, including members of Kora, and the Modern Maori Quartet.

Tickets on sale this week from Eventfinda.

And Australian singer songwriter Delta Goodrem will be performing a free live concert at Auckland's Tuning Fork on September 19.

Revisit a classic
In light of the new theory that 3D from Massive Attack could be underground street artist Banksy, why not have another listen to the song he co-wrote for Neneh Cherry, Manchild, along with the rest of her debut album?

Raw Like Sushi thrust itself on to the scene in 1989 with the attitude-heavy lead single Buffalo Stance.

The album charted in New Zealand's top 10. Other singles included the catchy Kisses On The Wind, Heart and Inna City Mama.
