Saturday's Rotorua Christmas Parade set to be the largest the city has ever hosted.
The fun community event will involve about 50 floats heading through the city from Rangiuru Street at 12pm and will finish at the Village Green, where entrants can display their creative work once
again.
There will also be a number of children's activities including bouncy castles, train and fire engines, food stalls and entertainment, as well as photos with Santa.
There are three categories for floats this year, including education, not-for-profit and business.
Prizes for each category are $500 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place, and the overall winner will receive the Champion's Shield.
This year, the parade will feature the first "Grinch" character who will sneak around and "steal" the presents.
The Rotorua Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday from midday and will start at Rangiuru St. People can view the parade alongside central city roads leading into the Village Green at the Rotorua Lakefront. For more information go to www.christmasparade.co.nz
