Musical fans have booked out a fun family-orientated concert.
The Auckland Symphony Orchestra will entertain a full house at a free family concert at the Rotorua Civic Centre this Sunday.
The community-based orchestra features 75 passionate musicians, aged from 18 to 80, and will provide 14 local high school students with theopportunity to play alongside.
Auckland Symphony Orchestra conductor Peter Thomas said the group had worked hard to provide a fun, positive performance for Rotorua and was looking forward to a busy weekend.
"It's nice to share music with others and give young soloists the opportunity to perform in a large orchestra," he said.
"The main aim is to have fun. Our players have chosen a career outside of music and are from all walks of live. It's all about just coming together for the pleasure of good music," Mr Thomas said.
The 2pm concert is sold out but music lovers who have missed out can attend tomorrow's free rehearsal from 11am to 12.30pm tomorrow at the Rotorua Civic Theatre.
