Previous off-site adoption days had been extremely popular, she said.
"They have been amazing. More than half of the animals we took last time found find homes. We were pleasantly surprised. We also carried out lots of properties inspections for those wanting dogs."
At the moment there are four dogs, six puppies and a couple of rabbits ready for re-homing at the SPCA. Another eight dogs will be ready soon for adopting.
Ms Reedy said many of the cats had been at the animal shelter for a few months waiting for someone to fall in love with them but because they appeared shy or timid, they weren't immediately worming their way into visitors' hearts.
However, all of the cats at the shelter were friendly but because they were housed with other cats, they often hid away when people arrived, she said.
"It's just the environment they are in. People just give up too easy. You have to put the effort in. Yes, some are a bit timid but they are living in a stressful situation with five or so other cats."
Every animal is vet checked, vaccinated, micro-chipped and de-sexed before being re-homed.
This weekend you can adopt a cat for $65 instead of $85 and dogs for $150, down from $200.
The animals and staff will be at St Chads Hall on Saturday October 6 between 10am and 3pm.
