Daily Post reporter Anita Moran talks about her progress with boot camp.
Just when I think I'm improving, I realise I still have a long way to go. This week saw the last week of my training sessions with Bridal Boot Camp and our trainer wasn't kidding when he said hewould make us work hard. After a week which was full of running, this week we worked on power and strength training. Our outdoor sessions took us to Smallbone Park to run up and down the steps. In another session, we did far too many lunges, squats and burpees to even count. Once again, I couldn't have completed the day's session if it wasn't for the encouragement from my fellow boot campers who pushed me and kept me going. By Thursday, my body was aching. Before the week started, I was feeling quite positive about the work I was doing. I played netball on Saturday and was able to play a whole game without feeling like I was dying. I was crediting my increased fitness levels to the work I was doing at boot camp but after the sessions this week I know I still have a lot of work to do. To be honest I'm not too sure when I am going to do all that extra work. As I mentioned, this was our last week training at boot camp, next week will be testing to see if we have improved in the past six weeks. One part of me is quite excited to see the changes I have made while another is a bit worried that all my hard work will be undone in a matter of weeks. The best thing about boot camp is the fact that I have to get out of bed early three days a week. I feel if I don't go I am letting myself, and my fellow boot campers, down. My self-motivation is shocking, so the thought of going it alone scares me.
